A List of Things I Don't Try My Best At

I know you’d be great, he is saying, because

you try your best at everything you do.

I scrunch up one side of my face. Do I, though?

You don’t? Aways try your best?

No. I am laughing

but it’s true.

That’s a list I’d like to see. He's laughing now.

And so:

Digging a hole

Sewing a straight line

Backing out of the driveway

Editing someone else’s writing

Being understood

(And this poem).
